The Incline Press (Dumbbells)

Incline Press

flat bench press

Aim

To develop the upper chest muscles and front shoulder muscles.

How To perform

1. Start by lying on an incline d bench and hold dumbbells at chest level with your palms facing forward.
2. press the dumbbells straight up towards the ceiling until your arms are extended.
3. Return to the starting position and repeat according to the prescribed repetitions.

Changing the angle of the movement so you are pressing on an incline bench tends to put extra stress on your upper chest muscles and makes the shoulders work harder. You will find that you cant lift as much doing the incline version as you can doing flat or decline presses.

Can be done with a barbell or dumbbells.
