Home / Weight Lifting Tips / Weight Lifting Plateau Overcome Your Weight Lifting PlateauA plateau is something that happens when your body stops responding to the training that you are doing and results in you not getting any bigger or any stronger. The plateau will happen to all weight lifters at some point and can be disheartening because you will be training hard and not seeing results. It is a common reason why some people give up weight training.
The key to keep building muscle is to keep doing exercises which allow you to keep making gains. For example if i can lift 200lbs for 10 reps for 3 sets and i come back to the gym and do the same workout again (including exercises, sets, reps and weight) then the body will simply get used to it and you will stop responding to the training.
The video on the right is part of our 10 part video coaching series and muscle building coach Vince Delmonte explains how to overcome a plateau in more detail. Each of the training videos outlines some important steps for you to take if you are serious about building muscle size and strength from each and every workout that you do.
