Weight Lifting Shoes
A good pair of weight lifting shoes or simply wearing the right kind of foot wear is important so you do not damage your feet during workouts. Doing heavy squats for example or other power lifting exercises you are going to need extra support that a good pair of trainers are going to give you. The same goes for those of you who do running for your cardio workouts, a good pair of trainers makes all the difference not only to the comfort of your workout but also to the health of your feet. Not all shoes are created equal and some are simply no good as weight lifting shoes. Many running shoes are made of really thin rubbery material that dont offer much support when doing exercises such as calf raises and just bend. Remember that heavy weight lifting exercises such as squats and deadlifts put a lot of pressure on the feet so it is important to treat yourself to a good pair of athletic shoes which offer good support to your feet. We all take our feet for granted they are a very important part of our bodies and we should treat them that way. Dont worry if you cant afford the sometimes crazy prices charged for a marketed pair of weight lifting shoes a simple study pair of athletic trainers will do. A shoe with a slight raised heal will help you when squating as it lets you go deeper into the squat. This is why weight training shoes have a slight raised heal. Im not talking about a 4inch heal but just a slight raise. For weight lifting exercises such as deadlifts then you want a flat sole shoe or even barefoot will work. If you are not a pro bodybuilder then honestly i wouldnt worry about spending the $130 or so on a pair of weight training shoes, instead i would opt for a good sturdy pair of athletic trainers for a fraction of the price , however if you have money burning a hole in your wallet then they would be a worthy addition to your equipment.
